About Visa on arrival (VOA)
Please note that Kenya – Visa on Arrival (VOA) is no longer available to Georgian citizens. As of January 2024, the Kenyan government has completely abolished the visa on arrival system and has switched to the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). This means that Georgian citizens, like citizens of most other countries, will need to obtain an electronic visa in advance before traveling to Kenya. For detailed information on this change and to learn about the application process, please visit our Kenya – Tourist e-Visa page.
Historically, the Visa on Arrival (VOA) was intended for travelers who wanted to enter Kenya for tourism, short-term business, or family visits without prior visa approval. It was a flexible option for spontaneous travel, where visas were issued directly at Kenya's entry points, such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. The VOA was typically valid for up to 90 days, allowing travelers to stay in the country for that period. However, this system was fraught with uncertainty, as visa approval was done on the spot and there was a risk of refusal.
The eTA system, unlike the VOA, provides advance travel authorization, giving travelers peace of mind before they travel. The process is somewhat similar to the electronic travel authorizations of Singapore or Australia , where applications are submitted online and approval is done electronically. However, it is significantly different from visa procedures in countries such as Canada or Japan , which often require in-person interviews at an embassy and more extensive documentation.
If your purpose of travel is tourism, business or study, you should familiarize yourself with the relevant e-visa categories. For example, a business visa is intended for business meetings, and a study visa is for educational purposes. GetVisa.ge offers full assistance in obtaining a Kenya eTA, from preparing documents to filling out the application. Frequently Asked Questions

No, from January 2024, Kenya has abolished the Visa on Arrival (VOA) system and has fully transitioned to the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Georgian citizens must apply for an electronic visa before traveling.
Should I get VOA or eVisa?
Kenya recommends eVisa online—faster and avoids queues.
What is a Kenyan eTA and how is it different from a VOA?

What documents do I need for a Kenya eTA?
Although the VOA is no longer valid, you will still need a valid passport, a return ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient financial resources to apply for an eTA. For more information, see the Tourist e-Visa page.
