Yes, limited on-campus work (up to 20 hours/week during term) is allowed. After one year, you may qualify for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT) for off-campus work.
Optional Practical Training (OPT) allows F1 students to work in their field of study for up to 12 months after graduation. STEM graduates may qualify for a 24-month extension (total 36 months).
