What to know about Nigeria visa and Landing/Exit Card
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) publishes specific visa classes and requirements. For Georgian citizens the most common short-term categories are Tourism Visa – F5A (tourism) and Visiting Visa – F6A/F6B (family/friends social visit). Official sources: Tourism Visa – F5A, Visiting (Single Entry) – F6A, Visiting (Multiple Entry) – F6B.
There is also a separate practical requirement: Landing and Exit Card. The official FAQ states directly that all foreigners entering or departing Nigeria must use the Landing/Exit Card portal for pre-processing; the service is free, processing is "instant", but failure to comply may result in entry/departure refusal. Official source: lecard.immigration.gov.ng — FAQ.
In short: visa/authorisation is one part, Landing/Exit Card is a separate step. Proper planning here will help avoid extra stress at "boarding" or the border.
- Tourism route: F5A; social visit: F6A/F6B (NIS).
- Landing/Exit Card portal mandatory for all foreigners; free and instant, but non-compliance may result in refusal (official FAQ).
- Category must match actual purpose — tourism ≠ visit (host/IR requirements).
Nigeria visa types: what is the right choice for Georgians
The best choice is made according to your purpose:
- Tourism Visa – F5A — when the purpose is tourism. Officially this is a single-entry visa, 90-day validity (from issue), stay — 30 days, and does not allow employment. Source: NIS — Tourism Visa F5A.
- Visiting (Single Entry) – F6A — when visiting family/friends. Here you additionally need invitation and host documents, plus "Immigration responsibility (IR)" acceptance. Validity 90 days, stay 30 days, non-extendable. Source: NIS — F6A.
- Visiting (Multiple Entry) – F6B — for frequent social visits, but officially on "reciprocity basis" and validity/conditions may depend on reciprocity (validity up to 5 years; stay not exceeding 180 days per entry). Source: NIS — F6B.
If comparing other African destinations, see Kenya (eTA) and South Africa (classic Visitor's Visa) — process logic differs. For general explanations see our visa guide.
- F5A: tourism, 30-day stay, single-entry, non-extendable (NIS).
- F6A: social visit + invitation/host docs + IR responsibility (NIS).
- F6B: multiple-entry only on reciprocity basis; conditions may vary (NIS).
How GetVisa.ge helps you obtain a Nigeria visa
With Nigeria the "decisive" factor is often not form-filling but document logic: purpose, itinerary/accommodation, finances and (for visits) host responsibility. We organise this process so the application is clear and consistent with requirements.
- We clarify the purpose and select the correct class (F5A vs F6A/F6B).
- We create a checklist per NIS official requirements (180-day bank statement, return ticket, hotel/host address, etc.).
- For F6A/F6B we verify invitation, host documents and IR responsibility text.
- We remind you of the Landing/Exit Card step and organise a "border" checklist so you have no problems at entry/departure.
- Category + documents must fit in one picture.
- For visits (F6A/F6B) host/IR part is often the "main barrier".
- Landing/Exit Card portal is a separate mandatory step.
