About Visa on arrival (VOA)
Nepal Visa on Arrival (VOA) allows citizens of Georgia to obtain a visa directly upon arrival in Nepal, at the country's international airports or land border crossing points. This is the most convenient way for short-term visits such as tourism, trekking, visiting family or short business meetings. Nepal VOA visa is intended for travelers who wish to stay in the country for 15, 30 or 90 days.
This type of visa does not require prior application to the Nepalese Embassy or Consulate in Georgia. The process is relatively simple and only requires a few basic documents and payment of a fee at the border. If your goal is to study , work , or move to permanent residence for a long period of time, then a Visa on Arrival (VOA) is not suitable for you. In this case, you should consider other categories, such as a study visa or a business visa, which you will need to obtain in advance.
The validity of a VOA visa starts from the date of entry into Nepal. It is important to note that a Nepalese visa can be extended upon arrival at the Nepalese Immigration Department, although the maximum allowable stay is 150 days in a calendar year. Unlike a Canadian visa or an Australian visa , which often require extensive documentation and a lengthy processing process, the Nepalese VOA process is much faster and less bureaucratic. It is more similar to the approach of countries where a visa is not required at all, but there are still formalities to be completed.
To obtain a visa on arrival in Nepal, travelers must have a valid passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of departure from Nepal, one passport-sized photo, and the visa fee in US dollars. Compared to a Japanese or Singaporean visa, the Nepal VOA does not require pre-approval or an interview, making it particularly attractive for spontaneous trips. However, as with any international trip, it is important to follow all requirements precisely to avoid delays at the border. GetVisa.ge recommends that you always check the latest information on the official website of the Nepal Immigration Department before traveling.
